I took these pictures at the dress rehearsal of the "Christmas Revels" performed by the Washington Revels on 22 November 2009 at the Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland. The theme for the revels is the Italian Renaissance, hence the elaborate costumes. The setting for the dress rehearsal was the school gymnasium which presented a challenge in terms of the dim light and high ceilings (I couldn't really do bounce flash). I did get some serviceable shots nonetheless using my Canon EOS 7D with my Canon L-series 24-105mm short zoom and 70-200mm F2.8 mid-range zoom. I touched the pictures up using Adobe Lightroom 2.3 and Photoshop Elements 7.0. I used the Topaz Adjust plug-in to enhance some of the pictures and make them "pop" more. I also used Alienskin's Bokeh plug-in to introduce shallow depth of field. Finally, I used Noiseware 2.0 to reduce the noise that shooting at very high isos resulted in. For those interested in the Washington Revels, they are performing in the month of December at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington DC (see this link below). revelsdc.org The pictures that this video was made from are at this flickr link (see below). If you want to use the pictures for any formal publication or post on a website, I don't have a problem with that but I would like to be informed about that so I can claim credit for it on my resume (I would expect being given a byline as well). www.flickr.com

The tradition of Christmas greetings extends over a century, and the ephemeral of the past are truly exquisite works of art. But with technology being what it is today, so we can still send a beautiful work of art, such as Christmas cards! (By the way, Ephemera is a term for documents of all the days of paper for temporary use as postcards, calendars, greeting cards or printed.)

Today, desktop publishing packages are very powerful and the matrix are functionsimpressed by how user-friendly. Therefore, we need tools for producing first class for first-class tickets, which look as good as store bought, especially if you buy the cards do.

Three of the best desktop publishing software are: Art Explosion Publisher Pro 2.0, Page Plus, and Microsoft Publisher (prices range from $ 45 - $ 140). Also printer, a less expensive package is very efficient. You can buy a Target for less than $ 20 and 'easy to use and canshow results mighty good!

It seems that the only desktop publishing software does not provide the actual words themselves. Well done, but the fact is, they offered the greetings are very common and vomited. Nobody wants to invest time in producing extraordinary.

A map is a cohesive unit po ': words, images, colors, cards ... work together to send a greeting to touch or tickle the heart of the recipient. Look at people for how longpass in front of the paper path finding "paper". This is a testimony to all parties such as Slam Dunk!

Most Christmas cards in a box have the feeling that was spat 1,000 times. What people want something more fresh and original! But you want to send what I call a document of "touch". You want to hope that the person who dream map to laugh, cry and think. This is the intention of a greeting card, and that beauty is, you know to getimages, fonts, colors, etc.

The tradition of Christmas cards has not died. We still want that "to touch the paper." We still want to communicate something about our greeting. We always want someone else to lead a nice "warm" and we send the cards to do so. Why do not your Christmas card this year? Make it personal. Make it beautiful. Make visible. Do it yourself!
