History

Although Sony made computers in 1980, only for the Japanese market, Sony pulled out of the computer industry around 1990. Later, Sony entered the market again, this time globally, under the new VAIO brand, started in 1996 with the PCV series of desktops.

VAIO Brand

The VAIO is a sub-brand for many of Sony computer products. The brand was created to distinguish items that use audio and video, as well as traditional computingProducts.

An example is the Sony VAIO W Series personal computer was a normal PC and a miniature entertainment center.

Sony is expanding the use of the Vaio brand. He can now be found on notebooks, subnotebooks, desktop, and a hard drive-based audio player, which comes in two 20GB and 40GB variations (called the VAIO Pocket Player).

VAIO Features

High-end Vaio notebooks usually come with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium or Business, while lowFine as the N Series notebook with Microsoft Vista Home Basic.

Since October 2005, VAIO laptops, on request, without any software installation on a slightly lower price. Recently, some models no longer ship with a recovery CD, but a special partition on the hard drive recovery using the information, including the operating system and bundled software. VAIO users are prompted to create a set of recovery CDs or DVDs immediately after purchase.
