The honest answer is: Yes! I truly believe on the basis of my
own personal experiences and from that, what I've seen
others do with my own two eyes, can indeed, each
learn to paint and the colors very well.
I have always liked looking at different types of
Artwork and I especially like, oil and watercolors.
I think it's so amazing how you can create an illusion
Reality, with only a few splash of color here and there.
Now I know that more of thesimplistic, but I think that you
the point.
I was about 33 years old when I decided to take the plunge
In the world of art and learn how you, what did I do to
so much admired. I set out on a mission to find a local art
Class or someone who could teach me the basics of oil
Painting. Believe it or not, I was very hard to find
taught that someone would actually classes, show me
to paint and to explain how and why to properly use
the tools.
IFinally, there were on the lookout for a class and decided to see
If I could learn from one of the program I saw on PBS television.
I had the Bob Ross - Joy of Painting series, many observed
Times over the years and decided. I was always very
enchanted by Bob Ross as he gracefully stepped through
his pictures on television. He would always say you can do this
My friend, you can do this. I think over time I started
Take him at his word and gave it a try.
I placed an order for a MasterPaint Kit
(and all the fixin).
I could not wait to get started, it was as expected
Christmas. When I got my supplies do I set up my easel
and canvas with eager expectation of completing my first
Painting. I put the VHS tape, with the kit, which came into force "
my VCR and sucked every word. I carefully observed
every movement and every brush stroke, until I was sure
I knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Now I was
ready to paint.
And there I sat, blank stares nervously at the giant white
Room. One day, two days, almost a week later,
through and I had achieved nothing more than just
staring at a blank canvas.
Now I had to overcome another obstacle. Fear had set in
and I was afraid to mess-my beautiful white canvas.
Since nobody to me that something more to push or
Encouragement, it was very easy to let my fear of failure
to prevent me from getting started. Finally, promoting
didcome vary from an unexpected source. My wife.
Every day she came to see what I just did
be completely disappointed. At last she said: "After all the
Money that you spent the colors and brushes either
put it on the screen, or I put it on your dinner
Plate ". Well, that was enough motivation for me. A man's voice
gotta eat. So I started and finished my first picture.
It took about 9 hours to complete, and I was up to
the early morning hours ofThe next morning, but I was determined to
finish it.
Well, my first impression was certainly nothing to get
enthusiastic. And let me tell you, it was absolutely
nothing for my ego. But he taught me many things.
I realized that with a little practice I might
learn how to paint certain objects, like trees, clouds
Mountains and the painting was not grass.Although
well, I could see a little spark of potential.
So I decided to do more to try toPainting I complete
just want to concentrate on painting each element
walk, eventually into a painting. Plus this way my
Error would be much smaller and easier to endure.
So I began to practice, practice, practice. Both
VHS tape, and the step-by-step instructions written as a
Leader, I would just paint over and over each element
until I found this result, I was satisfied.
After a few weeks ago I was confident enough toFight
another painting project. This time, I was completely satisfied
with my results and my wife was absolutely thrilled.
It only took me about 2-1/2 hours to paint the same scene
That I had previously spent over 9 hours to paint. In this
Moment, I was convinced that someone here
get adequate support and guidance can
Color and painting away.
I have since gone on to become a certified trainer for
the Bob Ross method of oil painting. Ipersonally
times change people lives and the confidence and creativity
Blossom as they realize their new found talents.
Yes, it's true, "Anyone Can Learn to Paint" and so can you.
